Description
Steel cut oats, also known as Irish oats or pinhead oats, are made from whole grain oat groats that have been cut into small pieces on a steel burr mill, then lightly toasted to bring out the wonderfully nutty flavor. Cooking steel cut oats takes a bit longer than rolled varieties, but the result is a uniquely delicious, terrifically satisfying porridge that is well worth the extra time. Simply add water and a pinch of salt, then simmer on the stove for about 20 minutes, and you’ll have a pot of organic gluten free oatmeal that is the perfect combination of chewy and creamy.
