I left the whirlwind that is Natural Products Expo West, and my head is buzzing with inspiration! This industry giant brought together over 3,000 exhibitors and countless potential partners, retailers, and media – a goldmine for any business in the natural products space. Here’s how attending Expo West will propel our business forward.

Walking the show floor was like flipping through a future-focused catalog. From plant-based protein innovations to sustainable packaging solutions, we saw trends that will shape the industry for years to come. This newfound knowledge will fuel our product development pipeline, ensuring we stay ahead of the curve and cater to evolving consumer needs.

Expo West isn’t just about products – it’s about people. We met with potential distributors who can get our products on store shelves nationwide, and connected with ingredient suppliers who can elevate our formulations. We even had productive conversations with journalists eager to learn about our brand story. These connections are invaluable and will be instrumental in expanding our reach and brand awareness.

The energy at Expo West is contagious!  Being surrounded by passionate individuals dedicated to healthy living and sustainability reignited our own enthusiasm and commitment to our mission. This sense of community will undoubtedly fuel our creativity and drive as we continue to grow our business.

Expo West wasn’t just an event; it was an investment in our future. The connections made, the knowledge gained, and the inspiration sparked will propel our business forward. We can’t wait to see the positive impact on our brand in the months and years to come!

Adaptogens and Herbal Supplements

It’s safe to say that “The Last of Us” didn’t scare anyone away from cordyceps or any other mushroom, as brands like REBBL tout drinks with ingredients like reishi mushrooms, and brands like Hop Wtr showcase non-mushroom ingredients like ashwagandha, all promising health benefits. Herbal supplement brands like Gaia are also taking center stage at the show.

Plant-Based Alternatives

Even non-vegans are flocking to plant-based food stands to try innovative new versions of foods that they know and love. Impossible Foods, Violife, Goodles and more show attendees that plant-based innovations are something consumers are interested in.

Sustainability in Packaging

Brands are ditching plastic packaging for metal and glass. Aluminum packaging for water, soda, adaptogenic drinks and food items appear everywhere on the show floor, and mini sauces in glass are also available. The trend inspired New Hope, which runs the show, to provide recycling across the show floor.

Keto Options

Keto is a trend that isn’t going away any time soon. From Whisps cheese crisps to Carbe Diem pastas to Keto Pint ice creams, keto foods are popular among attendees and easy to find all over the show floor.

Mocktails and More

Mingle Mocktails and Mocktail Club are among brands focusing on the flavor and fun of alcohol-style beverages without the alcohol. Many mocktails and mood-boosting drinks, including celebrity brands, Betty Buzz and Kin Euphorics, promote their products on the show floor. Expect more of these kinds of brands in your local supermarkets.
