1 gallon of warm water
¼ cup of Epsom salt
10 drops of Desert Essence 100% Australian Tea Tree Oil
Along with ingredients for the soak, you’ll need warm water and a clean basin that fits both of your feet.
Add one gallon of warm water to your basin. The water should be warm but not so hot that you accidentally burn your feet.
Dissolve ¼ cup of Epsom salt into the water.
With your hands or a spoon, mix 10 drops of tea tree oil into the water.
Immerse your feet into the soak and relax for 15 to 20 minutes. During this time, gently massage any sore or tense spots.
Pat your feet dry with a soft towel.
Follow up your soak with a replenishing scrub. Exfoliate your feet and the rest of your body with Desert Essence Hydrating Sugar Body Scrub, which buffs away rough skin with sugar crystals and pumice while replenishing your moisture barrier with jojoba oil, coconut oil and shea butter. For an everyday body cleanse, we also love Desert Essence Tea Tree Oil Cleansing Soap Bar, which clarifies skin with tea tree oil and hydrates with succulent aloe.
Remember to moisturize after your tea tree oil foot soak. Lock in hydration with a nourishing foot cream like Desert Essence Perfect Pistachio Foot Repair Cream, which harnesses organic pistachio and macadamia oils to soften feet.
Pamper your feet with a post-soak tea tree oil treatment. If you have any minor skin irritation on your feet, apply Desert Essence Kinder to Skin Manuka Oil & Tea Tree Oil — along with inherently cleansing tea tree oil, the manuka oil also helps soothe skin.
A tea tree oil foot soak’s benefits are plentiful, but what makes tea tree oil so special anyway? Coming from the steam-distilled leaves of the tea tree plant, this potent botanical extract is a key player in many Desert Essence personal care formulas thanks to its clarifying, antibacterial and antiseptic properties. Tea tree oil is a versatile household staple — it can be used to deter pests, freshen laundry and refresh the scalp. In skin care, it helps diminish blemishes, calm oily skin and, of course, soothe irritation. In a foot soak, it’s used for cleansing skin and calming irritation, which leaves your feet fresh and replenished.
For a proper self-care moment, you can’t go wrong with a tea tree oil foot soak with Epsom salt. Found in many self-care bath soaks, Epsom salt helps soothe tired feet.
