Puffy eyes can be a common summer woe, especially with late nights or increased outdoor activities. These DIY Green Tea & Cucumber Eye Pads provide a soothing and de-puffing treatment.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup brewed green tea (cooled)
- 1/4 cup cucumber, blended or finely grated
- 1 tablespoon aloe vera gel (fresh or pure store-bought)
- Cotton rounds
Equipment:
- Small bowl
- Blender or grater
- Airtight container or freezer-safe baggie
Instructions:
- Brew Tea: Brew a strong cup of green tea and allow it to cool completely.
- Prepare Cucumber: Blend or finely grate the cucumber. For a smoother texture, you can strain out some of the excess liquid after blending.
- Mix Ingredients: In a small bowl, combine the cooled green tea, blended cucumber, and aloe vera gel. Mix well.
- Soak Cotton Rounds: Dip cotton rounds into the mixture, one by one, ensuring they are fully saturated but not dripping excessively.
- Store: Gently press out any excess liquid and arrange the soaked cotton rounds in an airtight container or freezer-safe baggie.
- Chill/Freeze: Store them in the refrigerator for a few days, or in the freezer for up to a month (they’ll be extra cooling if frozen, just let them thaw for a minute before applying).
How to Use: Place two chilled or slightly thawed cotton rounds over your closed eyelids for 10-15 minutes. Relax and let the natural ingredients work their magic. Discard after use.
